The crawler of BeyondReviews, an app for Shopify stores. This page says who runs it, what it reads, how fast, and how to stop it.

What it does

It finds Shopify stores and checks how ready their product pages are to be read by search engines and AI assistants: whether a page shows reviews and star ratings in its HTML and structured data. We use what it finds to write to store owners about our app. It is the same check our free AI readiness checker runs when a merchant tests their own page.

What it reads

• Shopify's public store files /meta.json, /products.json and /collections.json.
• The home page and a few public product and collection pages.
• Public contact, about and policy pages, for the business contact address a store publishes.

Only public pages, read with plain GET requests. It never logs in, never adds to a cart, never submits forms or checks out, and never runs JavaScript. It keeps only the store's address, the business contact address the store publishes, and the result of the check. It does not copy or publish a store's reviews, images or text.

How fast

Requests are spaced at least 0.6 seconds apart across all stores together, with no more than two stores in progress at a time. A store usually gets between five and fifteen requests in a visit, and we seldom come back. When a store answers 429 we wait for its full Retry-After (and at least ten minutes) before asking that store again, and we slow down for everyone if several stores ask us to. A 403 or a challenge page ends our visit to that store. We never change our identity, address or tools to get past a block.

Requests are signed with Web Bot Auth (HTTP Message Signatures, RFC 9421). The Signature-Agent header names this site, and our public key is at https://bot.beyondreviews.app/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory. A request that claims our name without a valid signature from that key is not ours.

How to stop it

Write to hello@beyondreviews.app with your store's address. We add it to our opt-out list, and we do not crawl or email that store again. Or block our user agent, BeyondReviewsReadinessBot, at your firewall or CDN: a 403 answer ends our visit, and we never try to get around it.

We honour every opt-out, every 403 and every Retry-After.
